The admissions process is simple and designed to give assurance to you and your child that their educational ambitions are our focus too. There is no catchment area and while many of our children are local, we do have children who travel in from as far as Canary Wharf, East Grinstead and Crawley.
You will be guided every step of the way by our experienced Admissions Registrar, Mrs Fiona Sharp. Children are welcome to join us at any time during the school year and into any year group, if a place is available. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Sharp on 020 8660 3445 or complete the enquiry form to the right and she will be in touch.
Contact Fiona Sharp, Admissions Registrar, to discuss your educational plans for your child. We will send you a prospectus or you can request a prospectus online.
This may be on one of our advertised Open days or you may prefer to arrange a private guided tour. A personal tour will give you the opportunity to meet some of the children, speak to the teachers and get a general feel for school life here. Our Headmistress, Mrs Dina Mallett, at the Girls’ School and our Headmaster, Mr Floyd Steadman, at the Boys’ School, will also be delighted to discuss your child’s educational career with you.
We have two private co-educational Treetops Nurseries on two separate sites. Both Ofsted and ISI say the Nurseries are “outstanding”. Mrs White, the Nursery Manager for South Croydon site will be delighted to show you round Treetops at Pampisford Road and Mrs Cheshire, the Nursery Manager for Purley site will show you round 13 Woodcote Lane.
At Reception, girls move from Treetops Nursery to a delightful Early Years environment at the Girls’ School on Woodcote Lane, while boys’ Reception is located at the Purley Treetops Nursery site (rather than the main Boys’ School), which provides them with the benefit of a bespoke transitional year before they move across to the main Boys School site at Pampisford Road when they are five (Year 1).
To book a personal tour – please contact our Admissions Registrar, Fiona Sharp, Tel: 020 8660 3445, email email@example.com, or book online.
Assessment and Registration
Should you wish to apply for a place at either school or nursery, you will also be asked to complete a registration form and pay a £50 registration fee.
We also like to meet nursery children before we offer a place, to ensure that any special requirements or needs can be catered for. We will then make an offer of a nursery place once prospective families have visited us.
Accept the Offer
Once an offer has been made to you in writing, along with other paperwork which you are required to complete to secure your child’s submission, we would ask that you return this within 7 days of receipt to confirm acceptance of a place. You will be required to pay a deposit of £500, which is refunded to you when your child leaves the school.
Your Child’s First day at Cumnor House School
If your child is due to start at Cumnor once the school year has started, there is no need to feel apprehensive about how they will settle in. If they are starting after the start of the first term, you can rest assured that from the moment they arrive, another child from their class will be given the role of their ‘buddy’ and will make sure they are never alone. Of course the teachers too will take extra special care to make sure they soon feel part of the Cumnor family.
