New Headmaster for Cumnor House Boys and Nursery
Talented Head to join Cumnor House
Daniel Cummings joins Cumnor House School as Headmaster in September. He has taught in the state and independent schools sector in England as well as in Australia and has a track record of innovation and leadership.
The experienced Headmaster guided his last school into The Sunday Times Top 100 UK Prep Schools – entering the chart at number 10 of the London schools.
The father-of-two said: “Cumnor already has an excellent reputation for providing top class education and academic success. The sports and the arts are well established with a strong history of success. These coupled with the outstanding facilities and an experienced professional staff body give Cumnor every ingredient to continue to be an exceptional school for the future.”
Mr Cummings, whose wife Abigail is head of early years at a local school in Croydon, is a keen sportsman, enjoying cycling, running, football and rugby, and loves to travel with his young family.
He succeeds Floyd Steadman who is sadly bidding farewell to the leading independent school as a result of difficult personal circumstances.
Mr Steadman said: “Daniel has an accomplished record of delivering exceptional academic and pastoral outcomes. He is very familiar with independent school education and the London school system, and has close links to the schools that Cumnor House transfers to at 11+ and 13+.
“His high expectations for the children in his duty of care to achieve the highest educational outcomes and best destination school closely match those of Cumnor House.”
We look forward to welcoming him in September.
