It’s official – we’re EXCELLENT!

Boys School and Nursery receives "Excellent" grade in ISI Report 2017

Cumnor House School for Boys and Treetops Nursery were inspected by the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) in February and the Headmaster of the Boys’ school, Floyd Steadman, is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the grade of “Excellent” across the board. This is the highest grade a school can be awarded under the ISI Inspection scheme.
“We are all delighted with this report and it gives the whole school community a sense of pride,” said Mr Steadman. The report highlights the “substantial success” of the pupils in “achieving scholarships and places at senior schools of choice”. It also remarks on the “considerable success in sporting and music events.”
The report makes reference to the “teachers’ typically high expectations” enabling pupils to make “good progress in well-informed lessons”. It goes on, “The pupils develop excellent communication skills, and are extremely confident and competent speakers. Their moral development is outstanding and their behaviour is almost always exemplary, meeting the school’s aim to encourage gentlemanliness.”
The embedding of the school’s own code of conduct “The Cumnor Way” is referred to several times, which promotes the boys’ excellent belief in themselves and positive determination to succeed, whilst also displaying “excellent awareness of and sensitivity towards the needs of others”. This all supports the key summary finding in the report that “The quality of the pupil’s academic and other achievements is excellent”.
We all knew it already but nice to have it confirmed by the inspectors!
