Learning Support and EAL
We pride ourselves on the individual care and additional support we provide for our pupils who have identified needs. This will continue as part of our online programme with our SEN Team, Miss Edwards SENco, Mrs Figueira, Mrs Jackson and Mrs Trice. We will endeavour to tailor learning so that it is personalised to the individual as well as continue to provide support to staff, parents and pupils where needed. This will take place in the form of additional support resources, differentiated lessons, small group synchronous teaching and booster groups.
Our dyslexia programme ‘Units of Sound’ will continue at home and we encourage pupils who have access to this to complete at least two sessions a week.
Nurture Groups will also continue as a synchronous lesson, children will be invited to join these activities. Teachers will continue to feedback assessments to Miss Lloyd (Head of English) and Mrs Bennet (Head of maths). Where themes of difficulty or underperformance are noted, boys may be invited to attend booster or challenge synchronous learning sessions that will further support their progress. These will be very specific to personal need and are designed as temporary support and to resolve very minor subject-specific misconceptions.
All pupils will be asked to complete regular a questionnaire with the focus ranging from online learning, pastoral matters and general questions and concerns. This feedback will help inform planning for PSHE, Form Time, Nurture Groups and other small group sessions.
