Nursery Manager’s Blog – South Croydon – 15.03.2019

Dear Parents,

It has been an extremely busy period, with lots of fun activities and learning taking place. It was great to see all the different costumes for World Book Day, the children really enjoyed talking about their favourite characters and stories.

In Silver Birches room we have been embracing the windy weather in the garden, exploring how balls move when blown by the wind, listening to all the different sounds that occur when the wind blows and how the trees and leaves rustle! The children have also been discussing healthy foods and how they help us grow, and have really enjoyed making yummy fruit smoothies to try new tastes and textures.

Willows room have been working hard on learning the sound ‘Sh’ and words that start with this sound. The children have also been making blossom trees and talking about Springtime. Mr Woodhams has been conducting science experiments with the children as it has been British Science Week. In particular they enjoyed building an erupting volcano and selecting the dinosaurs and plants that they felt would have been around in this period.
