We are approaching the last week of the most complex and difficult term that any of us have ever experienced. Yet I look forward with positivity; and this is fuelled by the approach we are continuing to take towards learning and the wellbeing of our children.
We are finishing strongly and plans are being formulated for September, taking in to consideration the latest Government guidance. An update on September plans will be shared next week. The staff are working hard through parent and pupil transition meetings, which have been well supported and positively received. Boys will be able to meet their new classmates ‘virtually’ next week and we look forward to seeing Year 8, 4, 3, and 2 return physically to school before the end of the week.
Our Reception Boys greatly enjoyed their Bushcraft experience at the Girls’s school this week. Working and exploring the outside world is so important during normal times, but after a period of lockdown it gave the boys a brilliant opportunity to build confidence and increase well-being.
The green shoots for all of us are beginning to appear and for this we must be thankful and smile.
Smile: A Poem by Spike Milligan
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized I’d passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don’t leave it undetected.
Let’s start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
A Pandemic of smiles is one we can all aspire to! Have a great weekend and enjoy the good weather.
